The facility is conveniently located in the north end of New Bedford, on the Freetown border:
- 15 miles from Fall River, Taunton and Middleboro, Mass.
- 45 miles south of Boston
- 35 miles east of Providence, R.I.

From Boston and points north:
I-93 South to Rte. 128 north; at split, take Rte. 24 south to Exit 12 (Rte. 140 south). Take 140 south to Exit 8 (Chace Road); turn right at the end of the ramp and proceed to intersection. Turn right (south) on County Street, which becomes Rte. 18. New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital is on the right side of the road, about 1/4 mile from the "Entering New Bedford" sign.

From Rhode Island and points south and west:
I-195 east to Rte. 140 north; proceed to Exit 7 (Braley Rd.). Turn right at the end of the ramp and continue until the road ends. Turn left onto Acushner Ave./Rte. 18, approximately one mile. New Bedford Rehabiltation Hospital is on the left side of the road.
